Storytelling w 360 Video Workshop

Introduction

Now’s a great time for high school journalism and audio/video production teachers and parents to get your students to learn about the future of media production. 360 video cameras that can shoot in 4K and stream live to the internet can be had for $150 and there are a wealth of free and inexpensive options for editing and publishing as well. We’ll help you sort out a workflow and some best practices for capturing and sharing 360 video.

Check out the 360 Music Video featuring youth from our Music Legacy project. We shot it with a  Samsung Gear 360 (2017)

This will be a hands on workshop where you’ll get to play with some toys and make your own 360 video story. We’ll have a few Samsung Gear 360 cameras available. So, for those of you with newer Samsung and iPhone devices, you’ll want to download a copy of the lastest Gear 360 app on your phone and bring a laptop, a chromebook will also work, as we’ll be using some free online editing tools.

We’ll follow up with a detailed agenda and complete list of recommended apps and web sites you may want to join about a week before the workshop.
