Music Videos

Run is an original song written by members of Legacy ATX 2016. It inspired this music video written and directed by television producer and long time E4 Youth supporter Rakeda Ervin. The video explores the effects of gentrification. Despite being one of fastest growing cities in the U.S., Austin’s African-American community has been in decline. The video opens with a young man as he roams the historic district of Clarksville, TX where his family has had roots for many generations. Clarksville was originally established by freed slaves in the 1870’s and is now one of the city’s most expensive areas to live. We follow the young man into East Austin as he continues to pass historic landmarks and residents of color that remain in the city’s core. He climbs onto the interstate and eventually enters the suburbs on Manor, TX.

360 music video of the original song Onto Somethin’. This project was produced as a prototype for E4 Youth’s VR/Immersive Media Curriculum development.
