SXSW Event Research
SXSW Interactive:
1. SXSW Game Jam presented by Air National Guard – March 9th
Content Idea: Interviews, tweeting, pictures and video
Game Jam is the growth of an idea that in today’s heavily connected world, we could come together, be creative, share experiences and express ourselves in a multitude of ways using video games – it is very universal. The weekend stirs a global creative buzz in games… while at the same time exploring the process of development, be it programming, iterative design, narrative exploration or artistic expression. I’d love to be involved in this event, and take part in taking pictures.
SXSW Film:
2. Conference with Nicolas Cage – March 10th
Content Idea: Interview/blog post
Cage stars in Joe, directed by Green and screening at SXSW, but his voluminous resume also includes work with the Coen Brothers, Spike Jonze, David Lynch, Gore Verbinski and Werner Herzog. Cage and Green will be at SXSW this year and this is a wonderful opportunity for me to see one of my favorite actors up close. I think the session will be very informative and entertaining at the same time.
SXSW Interactive:
3. Inside Late Night with Seth Meyers – March 8th
Content Idea: Interviews, written blog posts
Famed Saturday Night Live head writer and anchor of the show’s wildly popular Weekend Update, Seth Meyers is host of NBC’s “Late Night,” where he brings his signature wit, jokes and satire to the weeknight scene. This will be a great opportunity for me to take pictures of an interview with him and share the experience with friends.
SXSW MVMT50:
4. Fireside Chat with Nick Cannon in the MVMT House – March 9th
Content Idea: Pictures and video/Twitter updates
Cited by People Magazine as one of the ‘Top Ten most successful young people in Hollywood’ and featured on the covers of magazine’s such as Complex and Black Enterprises’ 40 Under 40, Nick Cannon, 32 years old is a successful, multi-faceted entertainer: film star, comedian, TV and radio host, musician, writer, director, executive producer and philanthropist. I definitely think that this session will be motivating/informative. It will help me learn how Cannon was able to overcome obstacles and become so successful.
SXSW Unofficial:
5. SXSW Food Crawl – March 8th
Content Idea: Pictures and video and tweeting
The Food Crawl at SXSW brings together foodies and techies in the ultimate dining experience. This interactive event encourages networking and lots of eating. Meet those interested in food and technology while celebrating the best eats in Austin. My team and I can go discover new foods on Saturday. This will be a fun event for all of us and a time for us to just enjoy the experience.
