Web Developer / Earn Access to SXSW
The Youth Media Project is looking for a Web Developer who’d like to earn access to SXSW 2015.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Web Developer will work with staff of E4 Youth and the Black Media Council (BMC) www.blackmediacouncil.org to utilize the WordPress platform to develop a web site and blogging platform for students participating in the Youth Media Project. Staff members will work with web developer to identify web content and overall look and feel. Web developer will implement these elements while ensuring that staff and YMP students can have appropriate access to the site.
ABOUT YOUTH MEDIA PROJECT
The Youth Media Project (YMP) is a joint venture between E4 Youth and the Black Media Council in which high school and college age students earn access to South By Southwest Interactive & Film Festival. Students complete a rigorous six day (48 hour) workshop series and independent creative assignments totaling 24 hours of credit in order to qualify. Workshops include Team Building, Critical Thinking, Media Literacy and Content Creation skills while independent assignments are scored based on a rubric encompassing content, production and design.
JOB TYPE:
Part time 6 – 10 hours/week October 2014 – March 2015
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficient at WordPress, BuddyPress and other open source web tools.
Demonstrated experience with graphic design tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
Online examples of previous web projects.
Able to work independently and deliver projects on time.
Experience integrating social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube into WordPress based sites.
COMPENSATION
Web developer can earn a Gold Badge (Film & Interactive) to SXSW by completing 72 hours or more of documented work before February 1, 2015.
