Photoshop Basics

Copy the following into your blog and answer how you would do each of the following.

Basics & Viewing Images

  • Open an image, multiple images, close files  (File open )
  • Undo something you’ve done ( Click on the x when closing photo, command z or edit step backward)
  • View workspace panels
  • Using the tools panel
  • Zooming & Hand tools ( helps you )

Making Selections

  • Marquee tools ( selects part of the image to make shapes and to make a perfect shape hold down shift)
  • Lasso tool (is the way to  highlight certain parts of your picture )
  • Quick selection ( you use it for cut outs )
  • Magic Wand tool ( helps you refine the image you want to work with )
  • Inverting selections ( you can have just one part of the image you want )
  • Refining selections ( is refine your image )
  • Using Quick Mask mode 

Layers

  • Creating a new layer (  layer then go to new then click layer
  • Changing the layer visibility ( click on the eye so it will go away 
  • Deleting the layer ( highlight layer you want to get rid of then click the trash can
  • Changing the opacity of a layer ( just click opacity and slid the scale to where you want it to go )
  • Duplicating a background ( layer then duplicate layer

Enhancing and Retouching Photos

  • Cropping a photo
  • Straightening an image with the Ruler tool ( click on eye drop then click ruler and drag and click straighten )
  • Using the Smart Sharpen filter ( filter , sharpen )
  • Adjusting saturation ( window , adjustments , saturation )
  • Adjusting brightness and contrast (window , adjustments , brightness and contrast )
  • Using neutral density gradient
  • Using the Dodge & Burn tools
  • Removing red eye ( band aid looking tool then select the red eye tool and drag and pull)
  • Spot Healing Brush tool & Healing Brush Tool ( click on the tool and drag   )
