Photoshop Basics

Basics & Viewing Images
- Open an image, multiple images, close files
Command Open..
- Undo something you’ve done
Edit- “step backaward” > undo
- View workspace panels (right)

Spacebar- Hand / Zoom out on the corner of the picture or look for the thing on the menu bar. you can zoom in to a section only too.
Making Selections
- Marquee tools (any tool you click on, the menu for that is on the top, like a on a mac when you have certain windows open, Marquee tool – squares, circles,rectangles, )
- Lasso tool (outline images,)
- Quick selection (like lasso but allows you to get closer if you grab too much of the object next to it you go to options and click the deselect and erase the part you didn’t want)
- Magic Wand tool (selects the colors or sections you can change tolerance to make it more accurate)
- Inverting selections
- Refining selections
- Using Quick Mask mode ( theres a button for it click brush and the n the button and high
Layers
- Creating a new layer (f7)
- Changing the layer visibility (slider thing)
- Deleting the layer (trashcan)
- Changing the opacity of a layer (Slider thing with the eye)
- Duplicating a background (control rick click )
Enhancing and Retouching Photos
- Cropping a photo (Crop button, )
- Straightening an image with the Ruler tool ( click eye dropper then get tthe ruler thennn make a line of what you want to stragithe)
- Using the Smart Sharpen filter (filter – smart sharpen)
- Adjusting saturation (go to adjustments, oooh click eyeball to see the picture before and then click again to see the picture with the changes.)
- Adjusting brightness and contrast (go to window and adjustments)
- Using neutral density gradient (mke a line to where you want the affect to stop )
- Using the Dodge & Burn tools
- Removing red eye (click and hold the band aid then, get the rectangle and blah blah make the square arund the eye )
- Spot Healing Brush tool & Healing Brush Tool (take brush, and select area, option control is good alternative)
