Photoshop Basics

Basics & Viewing Images

• Open an image, multiple images, close files/ to open a picture just scroll up to the top and press file, open file a double click the picture that you want
• Undo something you’ve done/ to undo some thing you have done you will scroll up to edit and click step back.
• View workspace panels/ the work shop panels are on the left side and can become floating panels my dragging them out
• Using the tools panel/ it is on the left side and the rest us just like work shop panels
• Zooming & Hand tools/ when zooming in you scroll to the applications bar and change the percentage. to use the had tool all click on it and it zooms to that specific area hold the space bar and you can drag the view and hold the options button and you can zoom out

Making Selections

• Marquee tools/ used to get section of a picture in a rectangle or square 
• Lasso tool/ is a free hand version  of the Marquee tool
• Quick selection/ takes a picture and takes every thing to that general shape and selects  it
• Magic Wand tool/ takes every thing withe that similar color and selects it
• Inverting selections/
• Refining selections/
• Using Quick Mask mode/

Layers

• Creating a new layer/ go to the layer tab press new and then layer
• Changing the layer visibility/press the eye in the layers option tab
• Deleting the layer/ to delete a layer select is and press the trash can icon
• Changing the opacity of a layer/ to change to opacity select the opacity bar and drag is down it will make is see through
• Duplicating a background/ duplicate a back round select is and press duplicate in the layers menu

Enhancing and Retouching Photos

• Cropping a photo/select the crop tool select the image and press enter
• Straightening an image with the Ruler tool/ to strait the image get the ruler too draw a line then press straiten
• Using the Smart Sharpen filter/ select filter sharpen and smart sharpen did select what is needed
• Adjusting saturation/ to adjust saturation go to windows, adjustments then hue/saturation and adjust from there
• Adjusting brightness and contrast/ to do this go to adjustments then select brightness and go from there
• Using neutral density gradient
• Using the Dodge & Burn tools
• Removing red eye/ to do this select is from the band aid and drag over it the eye and it will do it
• Spot Healing Brush tool & Healing Brush Tool/ to do this select the band aid color over the spot and and stop clicking and for healing brush select the tool target a spot to get the pixels from hold options then click it and color over the problem
