Who am I

I am Dana Summers. I am a 19 year old Radio-Television-Film student (who is desperately trying to get into Advertising) at the University of Texas at Austin. I’m originally from Killeen, Texas, a military town about an hour north from Austin. I became an RTF student because I was really interested (and still am) in creating media content featuring and made by people from diverse backgrounds. I’m much less enthusiastic about film than I was when I started, but thanks to the groups I joined because of film, I became really interested in social media marketing and advertising. I became the web producer for a sketch comedy show on Texas Student Television a year ago and I really enjoyed creating content for the Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr.  Because of that experience, I’m pushing towards a career in social media. I joined this program because I want to learn all I can about the power of social media and how to use it effectively.
