Last Saturday we did a lot of ice breaking activities that involved team work and learning how to work as a team. Spending about ten minutes on each activity, we learned a lot about how to communicate and work as a group rather than individuals. For about an hour at the end, we did a more detail oriented exercise, simulating the environment in which hip-hop came from. We were put into “blocks,” came up with names and a hand shake. We then had to focus on building up our community with installations like schools, super markets, and libraries. We kept our building hidden so no one would throw a beef card at us, and in the end our low-key technique when we had the most points at the end. I’ve now earned two prizes, which I await eagerly.
