First Day

The first day of camp we started off by doing a number of ice breakers, which helped everyone to let down their guards and share details about their lives. These activities involved a question and answer rhythm, where each person shared their opinions about a subject matter. Overall, it allowed everyone bond better and that is important as we form groups in later sessions.

The last activity we did took a few hours and forced groups to form small communities. We all worked towards and end goal of building the highest number of facilities (school, library, hair salon). Not surprisingly, this created a sense of competition amongst everyone. In the end, our team was very diplomatic in that we decided to keep quiet, network with outside group members, and not get distracted by all the “beef” cards being dropped. As a team we really formed a synergy and ultimately won. So, obviously, we’re looking forward to our prize tomorrow!
