SXSW 2016 on my own (sort of)

I have had the incredible opportunity to experience SXSW for the last two years through e4youth. I learned how to work with a team. I learned how to assert myself. I learned how important branding is and how important it is to represent myself for my company(e4youth). In the years before I would cover specific events that were assigned to the group I was in but this year I was at SXSW through a different lens. I had the opportunity to experience it as a professional and I got to share part of this experience with my mother.

About to enter into Casa Mexico without a passport but it's okay!

I’m about to enter into Casa Mexico without a passport but don’t worry it’s okay!

Here in Austin the e4youth program supports students of color that don’t realize they can make a career and be successful in the creative arts but when I went to CASA MEXICO I was very excited to see all these people like me participating.  I was able to observe the interactions among the participants when they would approach possible investors to pitch their idea. What I learned from these observations was how to apply these techniques on how to push a brand without being pushy.

Having fun in the Avocados from Mexico photo booth. When I participated in the Shadow the Pros program, I was able to see the drafts , the brainstormings, and the ideas towards this campaign. It was very excited seeing their presences at CASA MEXICO.
