Google Fiber Supports Creative Workforce Development for Underserved Youth in Austin ISD

APPLY NOW

Google Fiber is partnering with E4 Youth, a creative workforce development collaborative focused on underserved youth, to provide AISD Career and Technology Education teachers with enrichment clubs, curriculum, career exposure and internships for high school students. Through participation in E4 Youth’s ‘Get Creative’ Enrichment Clubs, students learn employability skills and develop mentor reviewed digital portfolios to aid in college and career opportunities. The most promising students gain access to industry events like South By Southwest, job shadow and internship opportunities with E4 Youth’s ecosystem of creative and technology industry partners.

“Each year, students participating in our clubs have opportunities to build their creative capacity and compete for paid internships with some of the best creative companies in the city. They explore their passions while working on creative projects for iconic brands like Whataburger and Southwest Airlines” said Carl Settles, Founder/Executive Director of E4 Youth. “With Google Fiber on board, we are now poised to provide even more opportunities for underserved creative youth to learn about and pursue careers in the creative economy.”

E4 Youth is now accepting applications from Austin ISD Career and Technology Education teachers interested in establishing ‘Get Creative’ Enrichment Clubs and supplemental services in their classrooms. For more info and to apply, visit https://e4youth.org/austinisd
