It could be you Day 3

Today we had another wonderful guest speaker who works for SxSW. It was not only comforting to hear her story, but it was encouraging me to continue looking for what I truly do like. I may not really know now, and it may take a while to figure it out, but when I find the one thing I do truly love and want to do I will know. And then after I figure that out I just have to seek out advancement in that career! Basically, she helped me find confidence in finding what I love and being able to do it for the rest of my life.
After that we played a few other games and watched a movie, which was as cool as usual. It was a documentary I had seen, but what is great about the Market of Cool documentary is that it is still interesting even when you have seen it. I find it so interesting to see that people are looked into not just for psychology and sociology based careers, but even careers that at the surface seem very far off, like Media and Communications. But really, as the documentary helps reveal, it’s people that run the media. Media is run by this odd invisible vote that takes place in different target audiences in everything they do and watch and buy.
Yet, I hope we get to, at some point, talk about the cycle of media. While people run Media to begin with, at the same time it is what runs a huge section of what is our society, and can effect peoples actions in several ways everyday. I guess I am just oddly fascinated by the cycles people take in correlation to media and influence.

Let’s talk more about the ‘cycle of media’ tomorrow.  I would like to hear more of your thoughts on that for sure.  Glad you enjoyed the guest!
